· If you see “ESA” written on a class tracker, please give the client a copy of our Emotional Support handout. I have them printed and have placed the ESA in the black cabinet with our extra handouts Simply alert the owner that you have added it into their folder for them to review at home.
· If you see “Service Dog” on a class tracker, make sure they get a copy of our service dogs handout which can be found in the beginner class cart. Just add it to the folder, no need to mention it.
· If you see “Therapy Dog” written on a class tracker, please give the client a copy of the Therapy Dog handout. They can be found in the private class cart. This handout lists the recommendations and requirements for people to have their dog become therapy dogs. Simply alert the owner that you have added it into their folder for them to review at home.

If a student has "AKC Star Puppy" on the class tracker
- On class 5, when asking for names on diplomas, ask those students if they still want the AKC Star Puppy Test
- Inform your student it will be an additional $15, paid on class 6
- They can pay you $15 cash (exact change only) -OR- you can take the payment on Unleashed Software
If they ask you what it entails:
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is a program designed to get owners to attend a basic training class with their puppies. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy classes provide a starting point for a lifetime of training and learning with your dog. S.T.A.R. graduates often go on to Canine Good Citizen training or even earn AKC Therapy Dog titles. We can run this test at the same time as our beginner graduation test, since we do most of the test items in graduation. If somebody does the AKC Star Puppy test, they mail their test paper into the AKC and their puppy can get a medal!
This test can only be done with dogs under one year old. It does not require the puppy to be pure breed.
If you are not an AKC evaluator, you will need to check with Malia, David or Joy to see which of us will be available to come to the 6th class so that the test may be completed. Please do not ask the day of class, check with us after your 5th class has completed.
The Evaluator is the one who will put the AKC test on their training invoice to be paid for it. If you received cash, do not write it on your invoice.

If a student misses class, it is important that their trainer email them a copy of the homework as well as the videos for them to watch within 24 hours of the missed class.
To do that, you should:
- Go to the trainers section of the website
- Click “trainer videos” and scroll down
- The section marked “trainer emails” has everything pre-written for you
- Just copy and paste the correct email to send to your students
- Attach a copy of the correct homework PDF before you send the email
- Make sure that you also send that email to Malia by clicking BCC
If you have multiple students missing class, save yourself some time by typing all of their email addresses in the BCC section.
(Note: BCC means Blind Carbon Copy. That means that they cannot see each other's email addresses)
- 04
If you have a student who has been regularly coming to class but has to miss the last class, you can mail them their diploma.
- Go to the gray box under the counter
- Grab one of the cardboard envelopes (they already have stamps & address stickers)
- Text your student for their mailing address & write it on the envelope
- Add the diploma you printed to the envelope and seal it
- Leave the envelope in Malia's box -OR- take it to a post office box -OR- take it home and mail it from your mailbox
- 05
When substituting for another trainer, do not take the class tracker with you.
Original Class Trainer :
- Please place the class tracker into the substitute's mailbox
Substitute Trainer :
--Leave the class tracker in your mailbox until the date of class
--Mark attendance & send emails for missing students on Unleashed computer
--Place it back into the original trainer's box
This prevents us from having any issues with last minute substitute changes or having to take pictures of our trackers

Sometimes we do end up getting a dog who is aggressive or too reactive to be in the group classes
If the dog is fine without other dogs around:
· Offer the owner to switch to private classes
· The dog did class 1 so they can get 3 private classes to finish learning all the skills we teach in our beginner class
· Let them know there is no additional charge for this
· Tell Malia about the decision and she will book the private classes with the owner
If the dog is too aggressive that you feel unsafe:
· Ask the owner to leave class as soon as the behavior shows itself
· Inform the owner that they will receive a full refund of any payment & the deposit
· Refer them to Ultra K-9 in Nettleton 662-404-3647
· If the owner has an issue or questions, let them know to call the business line 662-321-5849 and Malia will talk with them
